We’re now in 2020 and we’ve been bombarded with resolutions, intentions and reminders. We all have the same “How to?” themes. “How to” make more profit in the business this year, how to be more patient, how to be more productive, and etc..
But for fun, I’d like to to discuss the opposite. How to make ZERO progress this year. If you follow these tips then your year will be a waste of time.
Overthink.
Start worrying about the business. Start worrying about which front end products to sell in the pharmacy. Worry about workflow and redesign. Worry about the staff. Dwell on the mistakes you made last year.
Make rash decisions.
Make hard decisions right now with unrealistic expectations without thinking about what’s gonna happen in the long run. Don’t look at the reports. Don’t research. Don’t look at the budget and be sure and spend more than you make because you deserve it.
Wear yourself out.
Stay up till 1 am and wake back up at 3 am. Think about the business 24/7 and even dream about it. Ignore the family. Never take a day off or leave early. Ignore your staff as you solve the problems by yourself. Never encourage those that work for you and with you. Be a Lone Ranger.
Compare your pharmacy to the big ones!
Check their site 24/7. Stalk their Facebook page. Go to all their locations. Talk to their employees then go down into the pit of darkness and throw a pity party.
There you have it! 4 proven time-wasters for the year. If you put these into action, this is a sure fire way to waste your valuable time.
But who wants to do that? No one wants to have ZERO progress. It just…. happens.
Let’s get started to moving in the right direction.
